Wine Review - 2017 Three of Hearts Rosé - 2017 Malivoire Vivant Rosé

2017 Henry of Pelham Three of Hearts Rosé – $19.95 – Vintages 552562 – **** – If there’s one thing to define this bottle, it’s the attention to detail. The transparent label barely obscures the beautiful pale pink colour in the bottle. The bottle itself makes a statement that this is something different. Made with Pinot Noir the aromas are soft cranberry, raspberry, sour cherry, and a nice citrus note accents the red fruit. There is a nice texture on the mid-palate where this just sits for a moment and unravels every bit of red fruit from the nose before moving to citrus on the finish. This is a bottle that you need to put on your table this summer.

2017 Malivoire Vivant Rosé – Vintages 498535 – $??? – **** – Rosé from Ontario is really in the top tier of what’s available on the market – this bottle from Malivoire is definitely one of the top bottles available right now. There are delicate aromas of watermelon and strawberry. On the palate the red fruit is met with a slight citrus note on the finish. This finishes dry and crisp keeping it exceptionally food friendly. A bottle for lighter fare from the grill – either chicken or seafood sounds like a perfect summer day to me.
