Wine Review September 13 – 2013 Coffin Ridge Bone Dry Riesling – 2012 Southbrook Triomphe Cabernet Franc

2013 Coffin Ridge Bone Dry Riesling – Vintages 232744 – $17.00 – Although not quite as “bone dry” as the name would suggest this is still a great value Riesling with flavours of apple and peach.  This will be great on it’s own but will make a great match to charcuterie, meat pizza… basically anything that is a little salty.  I love the label and this wine definitely make a great addition to any casual dinner party.

2012 Southbrook Triomphe Cabernet Franc – Vintages 275958 – $21.95 – This bottle has made frequent appearances in my home this summer… At this price this is one of the best value wines in the vintages section.  Lots of black currant, blackberry and subtle cocoa and vanilla on the finish.  The tannin is present but not overpowering making this wine very easy to drink immediately but it will last for at least 5 years.
