Union White – LCBO 197145 – $13.95 – While this may not be the perfect match to your Turkey this will be the perfect wine to pair with appetizers or with your dessert. It’s a blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, and Chardonnay. This wine has very crisp clean flavours and just enough acidity that it doesn’t linger in the mouth, so it will not conflict with anything that you’re serving. This is a very easy drinking wine that I enjoyed served very cold, but the interesting thing is the flavour of the wine changes as the temperature increases.
Now if you’re looking for your great Turkey wine check out my blog from last week and get the Inniskillin Barrel Aged Chardonnay – $14.95
Family Tree Red – VINTAGES 247882 – $18.95 – Henry of Pelham has done it again with another unique label. Nothing screams Thanksgiving quite as much Family so this will make a perfect addition to your table. If you are serving this with your turkey make sure you let it decant for at least 30 minutes to take a bit of the edge off. This is a Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc blend so even though this is a very easy drinking smooth Red wine with the Pinot Noir in the blend it has the signature earthiness and warmth that lets you know it’s a Henry of Pelham.
