Montalbera Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato – Vintages 369371 – $24.95 – The aroma on this wine is a heavy violet floral that blooms in your glass. There is a lot of warm fruit on the palate with Black Currant, and Very Ripe Raspberry as well as nice spice as it rolls off the back of your tongue. There is nice tannin on the finish of this wine. It is drinking great right now but will soften a bit over the next couple years. This was a great addition to barbequed steak and pizza, but this should be versatile to serve with most of your summer entertaining off the barbeque.
