2013 Leaning Post Gamay – $25.00 – Winery Only (www.leaningpostwines.com) – I have made no secret that I love Gamay, in spite of any biases the really great ones still stand out. This particular Gamay strikes a perfect balance between fruit and earth on the finish. Loads of Black Cherry mingles with Raspberry on the nose and the palate. Very subtle pepper on the finish and pleasant earthiness on the finish. Even though this is a little heavier than most Gamay it still maintains its food friendliness. This wine will make a perfect match to just about anything off the barbeque, or roast duck (if you’re feeling fancy).
