2010 Stoney Ridge Excellence Chardonnay – VINTAGES 254243 – $24.95 – If you are reading this and live in midtown Toronto you will want to write down the Vintages number (254243) and get the LCBO before I DO because there is a good change I will buy every bottle they...
2011 Stoney Ridge Pinot Noir – LCBO 156125 – $13.95 – This is easily the best Ontario Pinot Noir for the price. Most cheaper Ontario Pinot Noirs are loaded with heavy earth flavours that can make them difficult to approach. This wine is fruit forward and very (VERY) easy drinking. ...
2011 Tawse Gamay Noir – Vintages 322545 – $18.95 – Gamay is an interesting grape … most serious wine fans don’t pay a lot of attention to it unless it’s the Nouveau release. I have friends in France who will give you a hard time if you’re caught with a...
Last week was the Canadian International Auto Show, attended by many people who are excited to see what has changed with their favorite models of car or to see what new vehicles are ready to hit the road by their favorite manufacturer. I, on the other hand, keep busy looking...
It is Oscar weekend! Something I am certainly looking forward to having caught all 9 of the best picture nominees (not that I’m bragging). Here are a couple of easy drinking crowd pleasing wines to serve for you Oscar party! Focus this week are on wines that will pair well...
2011 Featherstone Black Sheep Riesling – VINTAGES 080234 – $16.95 – This wine is fantastic, a great balance of a touch of sweetness and acidity makes this very easy to drink. Strong flavours of Peach and Lemon. Easy to pair with a variety of foods thanks to the acidity. Pick...

2009 Flat Rock Chardonnay – VINTAGES 0286278 – $16.95 – I haven’t made any secret of the fact that I am not a fan of the descriptor “minerality”, however there really is no other word to describe this Chardonnay quite so well. Balanced with flavours of apple with a nice...
Both of the wines I am talking about this week have me very excited. Because I know they are not going to stay on the shelves very long. I am also excited because it’s a Spinal Tap kind of week… I am reminded of that scene from this is Spinal...
Two weeks ago I got some exciting news via Twitter that Vineland Estates and Henry of Pelham have started their Icewine harvest. I am not the biggest fan of Icewine, but as a fan of the Ontario Wine industry this is still reason to get excited. Icewine is something that...
