2008 Viewpointe Cabernet Franc – Vintages 359299 – $18.95 – It’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to taste the wines from Lake Erie North Shore. This is a great value from the vintages section. There is a lot going on in the bottle with this wine flavours of Black Currant, Plum and Smoke. Smokey flavours from the barrel are what is dominant in this wine. The finish is very smooth making this very easy drinking.
2012 Rockway Small Lot Reserve White Assemblage – Vintages 359315 – $16.95 – Even though this wine is only 15% Gewurztraminer there is a lot of floral happening in the bottle. Aromas of wild flower and peach with mellow flavours that match. The fact that this isn’t pure Gewurz means that it is exceptionally fruit friendly. This will pair well with Spicy Asian dishes, Indian Cuisine or even plain old Roast Chicken.
