Wine Review November 16, 2013 – 2011 Chateau Des Charmes St David’s Bench Sauvignon Blanc – 2008 Rosewood Mead Royale

2011 Chateau Des Charmes St David’s Bench Sauvignon Blanc – LCBO 391300 – $14.95 – This is a great Sauvignon Blanc that you can find in the regular list.  A great balance in flavour between slight herbaciousness and lime flavours.  This wine has nice acidity leaving you with a clean finish.  This is a great seafood wine whether shrimp, shellfish or fish.

2008 Rosewood Mead Royale – Vintages 296178 – $14.95 – Mead is wine made from honey.  If you’ve never had a chance to try meat I highly recommend it.  While there is quite a bit of sweetness to it this wine is much easier to approach than icewine.  Flavours and Aromas are very floral with a nice finish that leaves your mouth with a pleasant beeswax aroma and flavour.  This is a great wine to pair with appetizers, think of very strong cheeses and great deli meats.  Even though the wine gives the impression of very strong flavours it is deceiving at once it rolls off the back of your tongue it feels light.
