Wine Review September 27 – 2013 Flat Rock Good Kharma Chardonnay – 2010 Creekside Estate Laura’s Red

140926 - Good Kharma

2013 Flat Rock Good Kharma Chardonnay – Vintages 356873 – $16.95 – This will make a perfect addition to your table for Thanksgiving.  A portion of the sale from each bottle goes to help the Ontario Association of Food Banks.  Feel good story aside, this wine easily outperforms its price point.  You have aromas of peach, apple with subtle pineapple and flavours to match.  The finish on this wine is perfectly balanced flavours of vanilla but still balanced with nice acidity making this a very food friendly Chardonnay whether you’re matching it up with your Thanksgiving feast or sipping it on its own.

2010 Creekside Estate Laura’s Red – Vintages 117960 – $19.95 – This is a very good interesting blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot, Shiraz and Malbec.  Smoky with a kick of spice on the finish this is a great red meat wine to help you transition from grilling to oven cooked meats.  This will make a great addition to any Au Jus or other sauce.  Lots of heavier dark fruit flavours dominate this wine dark cherry, blackberry and plum.
