Wine Review February 3, 2013 – Calamus Unoaked Chardonnay 2010 – Featherstone Joy Cuvée Sparkling Wine 2008

Valentines Day is coming.  It’s still two weeks away but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start thinking about it.  I personally don’t like to make a big deal out of February 14th luckily there is something romantic about wine to begin with.  This week I am focussing on a couple of great White Wines as I have something special (and you guessed it… Red) for next week.

Featherstone Joy Premium Cuvée Sparkling Wine 2008 – VINTAGES 310334 – $34.95 – Toasty and Crisp!  This is another fantastic Vintaged sparkling wine to build a meal around.  If Lobster or other seafood is your specialty this is the wine for you.  Flavours of Apple are dominant in this bubbly.  This is interesting as well because the bottle is sealed with a Crown Cap.

Calamus Unoaked Chardonnay 2010 – VINTAGES 210062 – $14.95 – Calamus continues to provide fantastic wines and a fantastic price.  I love when Unoaked Chardonnay has flavours of tropical fruits like this one.  There is just a bit of sweetness on the finish adding to a clean aftertaste.  This is a wine that would pair well with lighter pasta dishes, or spicy Asian cuisine.
