2011 Kacaba Cabernet Sauvignon – $24.95 – The great thing about 2011 (and 2013) are that the red wines being released from these vintages are much more approachable than the big reds that have been released from 2010 and 2012, two of the best vintages EVER in Ontario. What can we sip on to tide us over until the wines from those killer vintages are ready? How about this great Cabernet Sauvignon. Reasonably priced and loaded with lots of ripe red fruit with just a hint of cocoa and spice on the finish. The tannin is smooth and softens with very little decanting with this wine. This is drinking great right now but should go another 5-8 years in the cellar. Pair with Lamb and Beef of all sorts.
