Wine Review October 25 – 2013 Flat Rock Unplugged Chardonnay – 2012 Henry of Pelham Estate Cabernet/Merlot

141025 - Unplugged

2013 Flat Rock Unplugged Chardonnay – Vintages 68015 – $16.95 – I love good unoaked Chardonnay because it’s food friendly and crowd pleasing.  This wine is loaded with Apples, Pear and Peach with nice acidity and a good finish.  This will be a great match to roast pork and chicken.

2012 Henry of Pelham Estate Cabernet/Merlot – Vintages 395855 – $24.95 – Very nice!  We are starting to see some great red wines hitting the shelves from the killer 2012 vintage.  There is everything you would expect from a great Cab Merlot lots of ripe red fruit, plum and black currant with nice smokiness.  The tannin is still quite firm in this wine and it will need some decanting for a bit before serving it with roast beef or lamb.
