Wine Review December 30, 2012 – Konzelmann Sparkling Rosé – Casa Dea Dea’s Cuvée – Chateau des Charmes Brut

Now the Christmas is out of the way and the world hasn’t ended we can focus on throwing a great New Years Party!  Sparkling Wine doesn’t have to be expensive.  And I have three wines that prove just that!  These wines are great party sippers and should pair well with finger foods that you are likely to serve for New Years.

Konzelmann Rosé Sparkling – LCBO 184176 – $16.20 – This Sparkling wine is definitely exciting!  Not many rosé’s hold onto a bit of the spice that many of the Ontario red grapes have… this one definitely does.  There are flavours of Cranberry and Cherry in this bottle with just a little bit of sweetness on the finish.

Casa Dea Dea’s Sparkling – LCBO 261263 – $18.95 – This one will be a little bit harder to find, but there are more than few bottles kicking around the city.  It is from Prince Edward County and it drinks above it’s price point.  Flavours of apricot and a touch of sweetness on the finish.

Chateau Des Charmes Brut – LCBO 224766 – $20.95 (until January 6) – This sparkling wine is on sale at the LCBO until January 6.  This continues to be one of my favorite traditional blends of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.  Even at full price this wine over-delivers but on sale there is NO reason for you not to pick up a bottle of two of this.
