2011 Angels Gate Old Vines Chardonnay – Vintages 116350 – $23.95 – The nose on this wine is intense! Lots of toasted oak and vanilla leap out of the glass. Great flavours of apple and pear with vanilla and butterscotch on the finish. The finish on this wine goes a long time. This is the perfect Chardonnay to sip on it’s own or serve with roast chicken.
2012 Konzelmann Reserve Merlot – Vintages 299214 – $26.95 – Really great Merlot from Ontario really shines… and this is a great Merlot. Loaded with heavy ripe fruit … you’ll get plum, black currant and raspberry in your glass. On the finish as the last drop passes over the back of your tongue your mouth will be filled with great dark chocolate flavours. Serve this with a really great cut of steak.
