Wine Review April 5, 2014 – 2011 Featherstone Four Feathers – 2010 Frogpond Farm Organic Chambourcin

2011 Featherstone Four Feathers – Vintages 341586 – $14.95 – This is a symphony of great white grapes with Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.  This wine is truly summer in a glass and after the winter we had we could all use some summer in a glass.  A great crisp citrus blast with slight herbacious notes are what you will taste from this wine.  There is a slight sweetness on the finish but it is not overpowering and there is nice acidity to balance it out.

2010 Frogpond Farm Organic Chambourcin – Vintages 367078 – $14.00 – If you’re a fan of Baco Noir and are NOT familiar with Chambourcin this is a bottle you have to try.  It has the same very ripe Juicy flavours of Plum, and Strawberry typical of Baco but the finish is more subtle with mild earthiness.  Nice acidity on this wine makes it a great wine to pear with Steak as we start to fire up the grill.  Frogpond Farm is a an Organic Winery.
