Wine Review - 2017 Featherstone Four Feathers - 2017 Lola Cabernet Franc Rosé

2017 Featherstone Four Feathers – Vintages 341586 – $14.95 – ***½+ – This is crushable, something that needs to be served next to grilled chicken, or at your next fish fry. The ideal way to serve this wine is going to be on a patio, dock, or outdoor setting with some hot weather (Environment Canada has told us it’s going to be hot this summer… they’re never wrong, right?). This offers up pink grapefruit, and field flowers on the nose and on the palate. This is just off-dry but with great acidity to balance everything out. I always look forward to this blend every summer, but this year it may be the best yet.

2017 Lola Cabernet Franc Rosé – Vintages 552497 – 15.95$ – **** – This is a beautiful Rosé from Pelee Island, and the wine inside the bottle is just as gorgeous as the package. The aromas and flavours are strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, and a nice slight hint of citrus on the finish. This is a dry rosé and the finish is clean. This isn’t spritzy like the Lola cousins you have been able to find at the LCBO in the past, but there is a slight effervescence that helps keep this light on the palate. Food pairings options are nearly endless, and if you’re not yearning for summer yet, you will be once you taste this wine.
