Wine Review - 2015 Intersection Unfiltered Cabernet Franc

2015 Intersection Unfiltered Cabernet Franc – Winery Only – $28.90 – ****+ – Cabernet Franc from BC is a thing of beauty. The extra heat on the fruit oozes out of the glass with very ripe and almost jammy aromas of raspberry and cassis. Somehow in spite of the massive fruit aromas there is some restraint and the signature savory note from Franc that makes an appearance. The flavours are rich and complex with fruit that matches the nose, but there’s also a nice note of cocoa, smoke and eucalyptus that rounds out the package. A perfect bottle to enjoy with a bbq, or on its own. The tannin is soft and approachable and this wine is drinking great right now, but if you have patience this should evolve nicely in your cellar over the next 10-15 years.
