Wine Review - 2014 Hinterland Blanc de Blanc

2014 Hinterland Blanc de Blanc – $43.00 – Winery Only – ****½ – I know “Les Etoiles” is the cornerstone of the portfolio for Hinterland – but the Blanc de Blanc is something that I treasure when I get my hands on a bottle. This wine always sells out quick – so before I get to a tasting note you need to run to Hinterland right now to snap up a bottle before it’s long sold out. The aromas have a whisper of vanilla layered over golden delicious apple – the flavours match the nose. The texture is the best part of the wine – this opens up on the mid palate and really has a chance to bring the whole orchard to your mouth. The finish is bright and crisp. This bottle could age for a decade easily in your cellar – but I’m impatient, and can’t keep it in my house (I don’t have any regrets).
