Wine Review - 2012 Redstone Limestone Vineyard Pinot Noir - 2016 Fielding Unoaked Chardonnay

2012 Redstone Limestone Vineyard Pinot Noir – Vintages 546473 – $22.00 – **** – It’s always exciting to find a quality Pinot from Ontario under thirty dollars. This has a little more weight and the tannin is a little firmer than what you would expect from a Pinot on the bench. The aromas have a nice heavy violet note layered over cherry, raspberry and cranberry. The flavours match the nose and finish with nice acidity. I can easily see this being poured next to a pork roast or duck from the oven.

2016 Fielding Unoaked Chardonnay – Vintages 164491 – $14.95 – **** – If you buy a bottle of this now, make sure you score two because it will have you yearning for a patio and a warm summer day. For an unoaked Chardonnay there is nice weight on the mid palate and great depth of flavour. You get apple, pear and peach with great concentration. In spite of this wines huge entrance and powerful presence it it met with nice acidity making this just at home on your table with chicken, pork, or frankly just a second glass.
