2014 Pelee Island Lola – LCBO TBD – Price $12.95 – **** – This sparkling blend of Vidal and Chambourcin is something that you should plan on drinking a lot of this summer. It’s off dry and you get a bit of the residual sugar on the finish, but the bubbles keep this wine from coming off as too sweet. Flavours are raspberry, strawberry, citrus and just a whisper of spice on the finish. This will make a great mimosa but even at this price it is great wine to enjoy on it’s own. Pelee Island really need to be applauded for putting together such a fantastic package and great wine at this price point.
2013 Pelee Pink – LCBO 529354 – Price $10.95 – **** – Fair warning, this bottle does have some sweetness on the finish. That being said, there is a great balance in this bottle with nice acidity, and intense flavour. The flavours in this wine are raspberry, and rich strawberry. The label has been given a facelift for this vintage and everything about this wine over delivers its pricepoint. This is good rosé that will make a perfect addition to any barbeque or picnic this summer.
