2014 Oak Aged Chardonnay – $24.95 – ****+ – Primary fermentation was done in stainless steel tanks, which is why this is not called barrel fermented. The Oak flavours on this wine are very well integrated and do not overpower very nice citrus fruit flavours. This wine is lots of lemon and granny smith on the nose and in the glass with just hints of vanilla and toasted oak on the finish. The acidity on this wine is bright and crisp leaving the finish nice and clean. This is a great wine to match with seafood of any kind whether you prefer battered and fried haddock or freshly shucked oysters.
2013 Terraced Vineyard Syrah – $29.95 – ****1/2 – Extremely well rounded and very easy drinking. The nose is raspberry, with spice notes and a subtle meatiness. The flavours of this wine are gulpable immediately and complex. Flavours of Raspberry, Cherry, and nice Pepper notes on the finish. The finish on this wine leaves you with a nice spiciness that sticks around for a long time. Beautiful acidity will make this a great match to stews or roast beef. This is a wine that will be difficult to hold onto in your cellar because it’s drinking so good right now, but should you have the patience it will hold on for 5-7 years.
