2013 Bachelder Niagara Chardonnay – Vintages 302083 – $24.95 – ****+ – I was thrilled over the holidays when I saw that the new vintage of the Bachelder Chardonnay had dropped five dollars in price. This wine is tremendous value for its price. The nose is Citrus with Peach and Apple and nice hints of spice. This wine is hard not to gulp with everything going on in the glass. You have Apples, Peaches and Citrus with Vanilla and Baking spice on the finish. The acidity is refreshing and balanced leaving you with a nice vanilla finish that lingers.
2013 See Ya Later Ranch Pinot Noir – Vintages 230078 – $19.95 – **** – This is a tasty, straightforward Pinot Noir that is well priced. Fruit driven with the nose offering up Raspberry and Red Cherry and just slight hints of Violets. The flavours on this wine are very concentrated and go right out to your cheeks. In spite of the big flavours I would still consider this wine elegant. Enjoy this on it’s own with a slight chill, with roast duck or thin crust pizza.
