Wildass Rosé – $16.95 – (Winery and Farmers Markets Near You) – Right away, the first thing you will notice is the color. Last year the wine was so dark it was almost a light red, while this year it’s definitely lighter (I apologize I don’t have a photo of the colour… I drank the wine first). Flavours and aromas are Strawberry, and Raspberry. The finish is bone dry and complex. Unlike most of the Rosé’s I have written about this spring this has seen some time in barrel which gives the wine a longer finish. You can taste the oak on that long finish, but it is not over powering. The barrel aging should help it stand up to whatever food you decide to pair with this … This summer in my house it will be paired with anything I decide to put on the grill.
