2013 Enchanted served with Polish Sausage, Saurkraut, Potato Pancakes and all the fixins.
2013 The Foreign Affair Enchanted – Vintages 389767 – $17.95 – This white blend is the Foreign Affairs answer to the Conspiracy. Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling work it’s way into this bottle done in a ripasso style. The wine was passed over the appassimento Riesling. The nose has a faint floral quality moving to grapefruit and a slight herbaciousness. The flavours in this wine are citrus dominated with grapefruit and refreshing lime with nice acidity. What is remarkable about this wine is that in spite of the intensity on the nose and flavour the wine stays balanced and definitely tastes like Ontario Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. This will make a terrific match to bavarian fare like Sausages and Perogies but will also make a nice match to trout or cod.
2012 Flat Rock Gravity Pinot Noir – Vintages 1560 – $29.95 – Oh Gravity… you are easily my most anticipated Pinot Noir from the bench. This wine year and year out is a benchmark for consistency and quality. Pinot Noir from the Beamsville or Twenty Mile bench tends to strike a perfect balance of fruit flavours and subtle earthiness… this is no exception. Drinks a little too easy and is priced perfectly to share with a couple of good friends.
