2013 Domaine Queylus Tradition Pinot Noir – Vintages 392738 – $29.95 – **** – Aromas of ripe cherry with a note of vanilla and a slight earthiness. This checks all the boxes for what you expect from Pinot Noir from Ontario. Ripe fruit opens up on the palate and there is a nice hint of baking spice on the finish. Nice acidity keeps this light and easy drinking. Simply put this is a great bottle of Ontario Pinot at a great price. This bottle offers great value at it’s price.
2016 Creekside Cabernet Rosé – Vintages 48819 – $14.95 – **** – This is one of those bottles that is essential for your summer patio. I can’t imagine the dish that won’t pair well next to this wine. Aromas and flavours of watermelon and raspberry with a bit of cherry tossed in there. The fruit opens up on the palate with nice intensity but it is met almost immediately with palate cleansing acidity. If there is any reason to drink Rosé with everything it’s this.
