Angels Gate Riesling 2010 – Vintages 160523 – $13.95 – Very soft flavours from this very well priced Riesling. Not quite as in your face as some of the other Rieslings from Beamsville. Nice acidity with a nice finish makes this wine very easy drinking. Because flavours are softer with this Riesling you will want to be mindful of food pairings, looking more towards lighter seasoned chicken or seafood dishes.
Featherstone Cabernet Franc 2011 – Vintages 64618 – $16.95 – This is a real gem this week in the vintages section, especially at this price point. Very rich texture with lots of berry flavours especially blueberry. There is slight white pepper on the finish that lingers. I enjoyed this wine on it’s own (very much), but it will pair very well with roast beef, tomato sauce pasta’s, pizza or even coq au vin.
