2012 Red House Wine Co Cabernet Shiraz – LCBO 219030 – $12.95 – This is a very good easy drinking red blend from the very hot 2012 Summer. This is not something you have to worry about cellaring, aging or storing just open and serve. Very fruit dominant with lots of raspberry and plum with just a hint of pepper on the finish. The tannin in this wine is soft and approachable immediately after opening. It’s tough to find good VQA red wine at this price. This will make a great match to Pizza, Pasta with Tomato Sauce or pretty much anything beef related.
2012 Keint-He Voyageur Chardonnay – Vintages 389544 – $16.00 – This wine is fantastic at its price. Keint-he is located in Prince Edward County but this wine is made from Niagara fruit. The nose is Vanilla and Green Apple with flavours to match. This is a nice Chardonnay that has a creamy vanilla finish but with enough acidity that this will be very versatile with all kinds of food. This would be perfect to serve to someone who doesn’t like a Chardonnay that is too Oaky. At this price it is a steal, it is difficult to get Ontario Chardonnay of this quality at this price.
I was visiting a friend last week in Ontario, and tried your wine. It was Red House ’14 Cabernet Shiraz. Loved it. I’m wondering if you ship your wines to BC?
