2016 Flat Rock Good Kharma Chardonnay – #356873 – $16.95 – **** – This wine is solid value – and is a textbook example of what makes Chardonnay great in Ontario. There are nice flavours of peach and vanilla. But you can feel good drinking this knowing that a portion of the sales go to the Ontario Association of Food Banks.
2016 CREW Merlot – #310532 – $17.95 – **** – We are starting to see wines from the Lake Erie North Shore making a return to the Vintages shelves after a couple years absence due to damage done to their vineyards thanks to some very cold winters. These wines are a little more ripe and jammy than what you will expect from Niagara or Prince Edward County. This merlot is exceptionally smooth and fruity, a perfect match to late summer barbeque.
