2014 North Shore Project Gamay – ****+ – $24.00 – This wine is the newest edition to the Norht Shore project offered by Will Predhomme via Hinterland last year. It’s not as if we needed more evidence to support the argument for Gamay as a varietal to help define the wine industry but we can consider this wine into evidence as exhibit A. The nose mostly elegant with lots of cherry and even hints of pepper on the nose with just a slight hint of a funkiness. The flavours of this wine match up with the nose and even with the funk in the wine the finish is clean with just a hint of pepper. There is nothing wrong with a little funk in your life. Enjoy this wine with Stew’s, Lamb, Roast Beef and a George Clinton record.
