2013 Fielding Red Conception – Vintages 189183 – $18.95 – **** – Unpretentious and loaded with fruit. This easy drinking red blend brings raspberry, blackberry and plum in the mouth but isn’t too heavy. Medium bodied with good structure and medium tannin that softens quickly after opening. A good red blend that needs no time in the cellar, but try to put it in a red wine glass with a large bowl. This will pair well with Burgers, Pizza, Steak or Ribs… take this up to the cottage to enjoy with your Red meat barbeques.
2013 Calamus Riesling – Vintages 158642 – $16.95 – **** – Apple, Lemon, and Lime dominate this wine with a nice mineral note layered over it. This is another superstar Riesling from Ontario coming in under the twenty dollar mark. Striking a perfect balance between acidity and fruit flavours with just the slightest hints of sweetness on the finish. This will make a perfect patio sipper, or to be enjoyed with spicy asian cuisine, or try it with fried chicken.
