2010 Huff Estates Peter F. Huff Cuvée – Vintages 198758 – $40.00 – ****1/2 – This wine was a gold medal winner at the 2015 Ontario Wine Awards. Rich and complex this wine brings together Apple, Peach and Lemon with nice Caramel and Toasty notes on the finish. The finish on this wine is clean but vanilla and caramel just linger for a while. This is definitely a bottle worth stowing away for a special occasion even if that occasion is opening a bottle of this wine.
2010 Niagara College Teaching Winery Dean’s List Pinot Noir – Vintages 445759 – $18.95 – **** – Something rarely found in the LCBO is a great bottle of Ontario Pinot Noir under twenty dollars. While this may not have a long life left in your cellar you can pick up a bottle of this to enjoy immediately. Cherry and Strawberry on the nose and on the palate with floral notes that poke their way through the fruit. The finish on this wine balances acidity, fruit and a nice earthy note on the finish. Enjoy this for the next 12-18 months.
