You are going to notice a new label on the shelves of the LCBO.  It appears that the folks at Henry of Pelham aren’t out of ideas yet when it comes to wrapping wine in new packages.  These new offerings are a fantastic way to revisit Ontario wines or to grab some more great value.

2013 Silver Bay Riesling/Gewurztraminer – LCBO 372771 – $12.95 – Riesling and Gewurztraminer make a fantastic marriage.  I have found recently when serving Gewurz at a party that many people will say that the floral aromas can be overpowering.  Bright and crisp with flavours of Apple and Peach with just a hint of Rose Petal on the finish.  This wine will pair with a wide assortment of food… spicy asian cuisine, sushi, barbequed chicken, or fish of any sort.

2013 Silver Bay Pinot Noir – LCBO 372789 – $14.95 – Pinot Noir under twenty dollars from Ontario can be a challenge… but this is a great pick.  Ripe Cherry with lots of earthiness on the finish.  The earth on the finish of this wine gives it some strength to hold up to steak dishes but it will be more at home on a table next to lamb or pork.
