2011 Norton Reserva Malbec – Vintages 17061 – $17.00 – **** – While this wine may not age as long as a Premier Cru Bordeaux it will make a nice addition to a budding wine collection or if you’re looking for something to stock up on while sticking to a...
16 Mile is a winery you probably haven’t heard of but I assure you that in the very near future you will. The wines bear names like Rebel and Incivility as a nod to owner Joseph Groia’s battle against Incivility charges from the Law Society of Upper Canada. The winery started...
2013 13th Street Merlot – Vintages 270504 – $17.95 – ***1/2+ – I have made no secret for my disdain for Ontario merlot. I know Ontario can make great Merlot in hot vintages like 2010 or 2012 but often in the cool vintages you end up with wine that just...
The trick to serving all three of these wines it to makes sure you don’t over chill them. If you serve these wines at fridge temperature they will all taste like you are drinking a popsicle stick. When you want to serve these wines toss them in the fridge for...
This is the second post from a monthly tasting group that we hold at the iYellow wine cave. Angela Aiello, Mandy Shnurr, Jason Solanki, and Krista Lamb meet up once a month to taste something of interest to them and discuss. We have decided to call our tasting group #blendedcru...
2014 Flat Rock Pink Twisted – Vintages 39974 – $16.95 – **** – When you put your glass to your face and get aromas of swedish berries and fuzzy peaches you’re going to expect this wine to be sweet … but it isn’t. While the nose screams candy the flavours...
Westcott Violette Brut – $24.95 – Winery Only – ***1/2+ – Bright, fresh, and young. This easy drinking sparkling has loads of citrus and lemon with crisp acidity on the finish. This is a welcome addition to the growing landscape of great Ontario sparkling wines. This is very well priced,...

2012 Tragically Hip Fully Completely Grand Reserve Red (Stoney Ridge) – Vintages 411595 – $24.95 – **** – The label is immediately recognizable as this wine was co-created with the Tragically Hip. A Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc right off the nose you get a little...
2013 Adobe Reserva Merlot – LCBO 322024 – $13.05 – ***1/2 – Medium bodied and easy drinking. Fruit forward with lots of Cherry, Strawberry and Plum. This is a crowd pleasing wine that is unpretentious. While this wine likely won’t age gracefully some wines aren’t meant to line the walls...
