2014 Featherstone Rosé – Vintages 117861 – $14.95 – ***1/2+ – I am not ashamed to admit that I drink copious amounts of Rosé year round. You can pair it with everything! Rosé is the swiss army knife of the wine world. The nose on this wine has a great savory edge of bell pepper and strawberry. Flavours of stawberry, rhubarb with just a touch of sugar on the finish. Don’t worry though this is not the “blush zinfandel” you may have experienced in the past. Enjoy this wine on it’s own but it will make a perfect match to grilled meats of any sort whether it’s a chicken burger, veggie kebabs or a steak.
2014 Tawse Sketches of Niagara Rosé – Vintages 172643 – $15.95 – ***1/2+ – If wines with a savory edge aren’t up your alley this is the Rosé for you. This is essentially Strawberry jam in a glass! Just like the Featherstone Rosé there is a touch of sugar on the finish of this wine but it is perfectly balanced with bright crisp acidity on the finish of this wine. Try this wine with pizza, the fruit flavours will make a great match. Although hopefully a warm patio will be in sight which is the best way to enjoy a glass of Rosé to celebrate spring.
