2014 Bachelder Niagara Chardonnay – Vintages 302083 – $24.95 – **** – This vintages essential continues to be a staple in my home when I am looking to show off great Chardonnay from Ontario. The nose is bright golden delicious and granny smith apple and a nice citrus note. The flavours match the nose and this wine sits a little lighter on the palate than the 2013 vintage. The use of oak is well integrated and restrained as this bottle tells the story of orchard fruit. The acidity is bright and the finish is clean with a slightest hint of citrus and vanilla that lingers. This bottle shouts food friendly – you can expect this in my house served next to chicken of all sorts from paprikash, to fried, to grilled.
