2012 Tawse Spark Brut Sparkling – Vintages 404558 – $14.95 – I really enjoyed the last vintage of this wine. It’s basically a traditional style sparkling wine made with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir… but to cap it all off there is also Pinot Gris in the mix. This has nice aromas of citrus and rising bread but in the mouth you have an added layer of tropical fruit that isn’t typical of Ontario sparkling wines. This comes in a half bottles or as they are referred to in my house “juice boxes” … just please don’t use a straw to sip on this.
2009 Henry of Pelham Cuvée Catharine Carte Blanche Blanc de Blanc – Vintages 315200 – $44.95 – Don’t let the price tag scare you away with this wine… it’s still cheaper than a bottle of Veuve Clicquot which is your standard entry level Champagne. I assure you that this is much better than entry level Champagne and the packaging is gorgeous. Complex and refined with a nose of dinner rolls, citrus and golden delicious apple. The finish is bright and crisp. This is an essential wine for your Christmas and New Years party it’s perfect to pair with Turkey and great company!
