2027 Queenston Road 2013 Pinot Noir – Vintages 361832 – $35.00 – ****½ – This is a near perfect expression of St David’s Bench Pinot Noir. There is nice earthiness and slightly floral qualities that rise out of the glass. The earthiness to this wine is vivid like a damp morning in the fall. Once you get past this heaviness you move onto bright Cherry flavours. The fruit is perfectly ripe and it just sits on your palate and caresses your whole mouth with these fantastic flavours. This wine finishes clean with nice acidity.
2027 Cellars Queenston Road 2013 Sparkling Wine Blanc de Blancs – $25.14 (Licensee Only) – ****½ – What an outstanding bottle of bubbles from this province. The nose is bright crisp Lemon with nice Bread notes. This is nice and complex on the palate with Citrus leading the way. Under the lemon notes you find golden delicious apple and a mineral note that pushes it’s way through the bright crisp palate cleansing acidity. This may be one of the best bottles of sparkling wine in the province right now.
2027 Cellars 2013 Aberdeen Road Chardonnay – Vintages 472241 – $30.00 – ****½ – Orange, Vanilla, Peach and Spice with a hint of something Funky. The balance of everything in this wine is fantastic. Fruit flavours are bright and clear with Peach, Orange, and Apple. The barrel flavours bring vanilla and spice… but not too much. There is a great creamy mid-palate to this wine but it’s balanced with great acidity. The finish to this wine is refreshing but leaves you with a long finish of Orange and Vanilla and the funk from the nose creeps it’s way back in.
