I am shameless in professing my love for the sparkling wine from Featherstone. Both the Rosé and the Blanc de Blanc are something to be excited about. This 2015 bottle of bubbles doesn’t spend as much time on lees, but the fruit is just so fresh and tasty in this bottle.
2015 Featherstone Joy Premium Cuvée Rosé – $29.95 – ****+ – There is something vibrant and fresh about this wine. There is an exuberance about this wine that can’t be contained. There are aromas of cherry pie, raspberry and a slight citrus note under the red fruit. The flavours are driven by the red fruit, the cherry and raspberry notes are almost candied… but there is no sweetness to this wine. It finished with bright crisp acidity keeping the palate refreshed for your next sip, but the red fruit notes seem to hold on as long as they can before you gulp it down. Resist the urge to gulp (if you can) and savour this as often as you can.
