2011 Hinterland Blanc de Blanc – $39.00 – Winery Only – ****+ – On the Hinterland website you are asked to refrain from enjoying this wine for six months after September 4th, 2015 (so March 4th… I think). Frankly I didn’t have the patience. I wanted to see what this tasted like right now. I wasn’t disappointed, not even a little bit. The nose has beautiful yeasty notes layered over lemon drop. The flavours are already nice and complex. There is lots of lemon that lead the charge but once the wine has had a chance to settle in your mouth you get subtle vanilla, bread and even hints of spice. This is something worth picking up and holding on to. I can’t wait to re-taste this wine in March and again in a few years.
