I have been checking out the farmers markets to see which wineries have been selling their bottles over the past few weeks.  I have had the opportunity to check out great wines from Stanners and Southbrook.  This past week I had a chance to check out the wines from Cornerstone, to say I was impressed would be an understatement.  I ended up leaving with a great bottle of Cabernet Franc.

2011 Cornerstone Cabernet Franc – $16.00 – At any price this wine would be fantastic and was perfect on my table paired with perfectly grilled steaks.  There is lots of fruit in the bottle with flavours of Raspberry, Currant and Blueberry.  You also will find woodsmoke and cocoa on the finish.  While this wine is very approachable and drinking very well now I would even pick up a couple more bottles to age for another 3-5 years.  This wine is made in a ripasso style which would explain the enhanced flavours.  To say that this wine outperforms it’s pricepoint is an understatement.
