Wine Review September 21, 2013 – Cattail Creek Barrel Fermented Small Lot Chardonnay 2010 – Organized Crime Pipe Down 2011

Cattail Creek Barrel Fermented Small Lot Chardonnay 2010 – Vintages 348987 – $24.95 – A little more refined than most Chardonnay’s I have written about recently.  Fruit flavours lean towards Orange and Grilled Pineapple.  This wine has a long creamy finish with lots of vanilla left on the palate with just a touch of smokey oak.  I really love this wine, it’s something to look forward to serving with Roast Chicken or Turkey.

Organized Crime Pipe Down 2011 – Vintages 356865 – $22.20 – This wine is mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc.  Cherry, Raspberry and Blueberry are dominant flavours in this wine as well as a nice smoky pressence from the barrels.  There is slight mocha on the finish and firm tannins.  This is another heavy hitting Red Meat wine to be enjoyed with Steak or Ribs from the Barbeque.  It is great right out of the bottle but will do well with a bit of time in a decanter
