Wine Review March 30, 2013 – 2010 Cave Spring Chardonnay Musqué – 2010 Rockway Vineyards Small Lot Reserve Red Assemblage

2010 Cave Spring Chardonnay Musqué – VINTAGES 246579 – $15.95 – Musqué just feels like spring.  Aromas of wildflowers that fill your nose to the point where you can close your eyes and picture yourself in a beautiful spring field.  Flavours on this wine lean towards citrus with flavours that hang around.  I would pair this with all sorts of Asian Cuisine, maybe your Ham for Easter or enjoy it on it’s own.

2010 Rockway Vineyards Small Lot Reserve Red Assemblage – VINTAGES 321893 – $16.95 – This is a wine the definitely over-delivers on it’s seventeen dollar price point.  A nice balance between heavier earthy flavours and dark fruit.  This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot is very easy drinking.  I would pair this with a heavier beef dish … if you haven’t already it would be worth busting out the grill to match this with a great steak or some homemade burgers?
