2013 Cave Spring Estate Bottled Chardonnay – Vintages 256552 – $18.95 – **** – This has everything you would want from a good Ontario Chardonnay. The nose offers up Orange, Apples and Vanilla. The flavours of this wine are perfectly balanced offering up orchard fruit with nice balanced acidity but a perfect dash of baking spice and vanilla on the finish. When this wine wraps up it’s adventure in your mouth you’re left with nice subtle mineral notes to round out the package.
2013 Rosewood Select Series Pinot Noir – Vintages 112177 – $21.95 – ****+ – Fantastic value. I always look forward to this wine hitting the LCBO shelves because it’s so good. I love Pinot Noir from cooler vintages. The nose has nice floral violet aromas layered over sour cherry and damp earth all rise out of the glass. The flavours of this wine have Cherry, Raspberry and Cranberry leading the charge. The long finish on this wine offers up a return of the subtle floral notes that you found on the nose and a nice earthiness. This will pair great with Turkey, or Duck cooked any way.
