Wine Review July 19 – 2013 Benjamin Bridge Nova 7 – 2012 Keint-He Portage Pinot Noir

2013 Benjamin Bridge Nova 7 – Vintages 256289 – $24.95 – I am very excited to see this wine being released in the heat of summer because it is a true summer wine.  Light and Low in Alcohol with a few bubbles in the glass.  It’s fun to serve this wine chilled in a champagne flute but this is not mandatory.  Flavours are Ginger and Pink Grapefruit.  This is a sweeter wine but still has nice crisp acidity so the sugar doesn’t overpower.  This would go great with spicy Asian cuisine, Hot Wings or anything else that has a kick as the sugar and acidity will help cut through the heat.

2012 Keint-He Portage Pinot Noir – Vintages 373415 – $25.00 –  Another great affordable county Pinot Noir.  This wine is loaded with bright cherry flavours and very subtle earth on the finish.  This is a perfect starting point to get into County Pinot … if you missed it there is also the Voyageur Pinot Noir made from Niagara Fruit that may be kicking around on some LCBO shelves.  Slightly chill this wine in the fridge for 30 minutes before enjoying it.
