Wine Review January 29, 2012 – 2010 Simply White – 2009 Cave Spring Pinot Noir

2010 Simply White (Stoney Ridge) – $13.95 – LCBO 234476 – Another simple blend that is very easy to drink.  We have a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc that is very food friendly with nice acidity on the finish.  You will find a citrus burst on the finish leaning towards Pink Grapefruit.  This has a medium body that lingers on the tongue that will make you wonder whether or not this has been in an Oak barrel.  (It has not)

2009 Cave Spring Pinot Noir – $17.95 – LCBO 417642 – I still have a hard time going out of my way to find Pinot Noir.  I have had so many bad Pinot experiences that I forget how good it can be.  This is a wonderful complex Pinot Noir.  This is a little spicy on the nose but has almost a cooling effect on the tongue with a clean finish.  This is a red wine that would be easy to pair with a variety of foods.  I would go so far as to pair this with almost any roast meat (even chicken)
