Wine Review February 22, 2014 – 2012 The Foreign Affair the Conspiracy – 2011 Small Talk Faux Pas

2012 The Foreign Affair The Conspiracy – Vintages 149237 – $19.95 – This is a very big, intense red wine that needs some decanting to take the edge off.  Snatch this bottle up because this is your sitting by the fireplace sipping rare roast beef eating wine.  Made in the ripasso method which lets some of the grapes dry out before pressing you get a wine that has lots of very dark flavours of Cocoa and Smoky Oak on the finish

2011 Small Talk Faux Pas – LCBO 343384 – $14.95 – An unconventional blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling… but flavours definitely learn more towards Sauvignon Blanc with great Herbacious notes structured over bright crisp acidity.  This is a great Oyster wine, but it will pair perfectly with just about any seafood dish.  Cheaper than your standard New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc this wine strikes a perfect balance between New Zealand and distinctly Niagara.
