I am shameless in professing my love for Prince Edward County.  I get excited when I see the many new labels being established in the County.  Three Dog Winery has done a good job placing themselves on Social Media (twitter: @threedogwine) so I was just as shameless in asking Owner/Wine Maker John Squair to hook me up with a bottle of the Doghouse White.  Vidal can be difficult to turn into good table wine as it is typically reserved for Icewine but when it’s good it’s really good.

2011 Doghouse White (Vidal/Riesling) – $12.95 – Bright crisp acidity… with the winter we have been having the prairie boy in me is thrilled to find a wine begging to be paired with Perogies and Sausage (homemade, of course!) or Potato Pancakes.  Lots of floral and honey flavours in spite of being very dry give this wine more than enough depth to stand up on it’s own.
