So long 2015… time for some bubbles

I want to thank everyone who takes the time to read my reviews and blog posts on this website. When I relaunched the site earlier this year I had no idea people would actually read what I write. I have some exciting things coming out on this webpage for 2016 – on top of the interesting things I usually write about I will have a podcast available for download.

Hopefully you’re reading this before the LCBO closes on the last day of 2015. Because if you are there is still time to pick up a couple of bottles of great Ontario Sparkling wine to ring in the New Year.

Chateau des Charmes Brut Methode Traditionelle – LCBO 224766 – $22.95 – **** – This is still my go-to when it comes to basic Champagne style sparkling wine made in Ontario. Reasonably priced and delicious. This wine spends three years on lees before being disgorged. The nose is of rising dough, apples and lemon with flavours that match. The brilliant acidity will make this a food friendly match for anything you could serve.

2012 Rosé Méthode Traditionnelle – Vintages 78055 (To be released Feb 6, 2016) – $28.95 – ****+ – This is a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The nose has Strawberry front and center layered over nice bread aromas. The flavours of this wine are delicious Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry with nice acidity on the finish. Simply put this wine drinks very easy and would be perfect for any occasion. However, there is no reason to keep this bottled up … enjoy this for any occasion at this price. you can purchase this wine from the Chateau des Charmes boutique before the Vintages release date.
