2014 Inniskillin Vidal Sparkling Icewine – Vintages 560367 – $ – ***** – This wine is pricey, but the perfect thing to enjoy this winter. The bubbles from this wine help pull the sweet wine off the palate and keep it cleansed and refreshed. That being said this packs concentrated honey and peach flavours on the palate. The aromas are honey, peach, apricot and citrus but comes out of the glass heavy. It is a surprise that this wine sits light on the palate (for an Icewine). If you’re going to enjoy this wine do it properly and grab some nice blue cheese and thank me later.
2015 Megalomaniac Narcissist Riesling – Vintages 67587 – $17.95 – ****+ – This wine was made with former le Clos Jordanne winemaker Sebastian Jacquey at the helm. The nose is bright, sharp, and crisp citrus with golden delicious apple. This is a slight off-dry mated with perfect acidity keeping it light and crisp on the palate. The best part is the subtle mineral note on the finish giving this wine nice complexity on the finish.
