2013 Simply Stainless Chardonnay – LCBO 377549 – $14.95 – This wine is a very big unoaked chardonnay. Loads of apple and pineapple on the nose and on the palate. Dry with just a hint of sweetness that is balanced by great acidity. A great patio sipper and will make a great match to roast chicken or turkey or creamy pasta dishes.
2013 Gewurztraminer – Winery Only (www.cattailcreek.ca) – $18.95 – As we start eying the fall we can start thinking of comfort food. People usually raise an eyebrow when I tell them my preferred food pairings are perogies, sausages, saurkraut … your typical western canadian fall/winter feast. Great aromas of rose petal and citrus and flavours to match. Great acidity and just off-dry make this wine drink a little too easy.
